On duty two Customs officials martyrs one injured

Two customs officials were died and one private technician was injured in a road accident near Qazi Ahmed on Monday evening, according to a clarification statement issued by the Collectorate of Customs Hyderabad media reported.

The statement said that a team of three persons, namely Syed Qamar Abbas, PRAL, Arslan Hassan Siddiqui, CPF personnel, and Farhan, a private technician, were on their way to the Custom Office (Sukkur) for installation and maintenance of CCTVs at different Customs Check Posts, as part of the Customs initiative.

The team was travelling in a double cabin pickup on official duty, when their vehicle collided with a bus/coach at Amri bridge near Qazi Ahmed around 7:00 pm. The impact of the collision was so severe that Syed Qamar Abbas and Arslan Hassan Siddiqui died on the spot, while Farhan sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The Collectorate of Customs Hyderabad expressed its deep sorrow and grief over the tragic incident and offered its condolences to the bereaved families. It also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured technician. The statement said that an inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the accident and to take necessary action against the responsible parties.
