Customs Quetta seizes smuggled goods worth Rs. 2.705 billion

The Mobile Squad of the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta has conducted a massive anti-smuggling operation in Baluchistan, seizing a large quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs. 2.705 billion.

The seized goods include 160950 kg of betel nuts, 1553 cartons of cigarettes, 12228 tyres, 1355 bags of Chinese salt, 1402 bundles of clothes, 1455 bags of sugar and brown sugar, 48 vehicles, and various other miscellaneous items such as solar panels, metal blocks, medicines, etc.

The operation was assisted by the Taftan Rifles, following the instructions of the Army chief, who has expressed his full support for the anti-smuggling campaign of the Customs department. The Chaman border is currently closed and Naukandi is the only route where smuggled goods are moving.

The Chief Collector of Baluchistan, Abdul Qadir Memon, is coordinating with the Army to curb the menace of smuggling in the province. The Collector of Enforcement, Muhammad Ismail, the Additional Collector, Rashid Munir, and their team have made this remarkable case.

Customs Enforcement Quetta has vowed to continue its efforts to protect the national economy and the local industry from the harmful effects of smuggling.
