ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) acknowledged on Wednesday it was facing financial constraints that were making it difficult for its management to pay salaries to some of its employees, though it denied reports that the situation was likely to pose risks to its operations.
Some media outlets recently reported PIA pilots were planning to boycott flights due to the non-payment of their salaries in the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. They also maintained that the national flag carrier was facing a shortage of funds amid the economic downturn in Pakistan.
