Pak-Afghan border crossing Torkham reopens after nine days

A Pak-Customs official said that the crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan has been reopened for pedestrian and vehicular after remaining closed for nine days, following an exchange of fire between the security forces of the two countries.

Torkham crossing was closed after forces from both sides exchanged fire, stranding thousands of travellers and hundreds of trucks.

An high official of Customs department told the mahsool.net regarding reopening of the Torkham. He said that on Friday at 7.30am Immigration and custom officials arrived to resume their duties as normal, and both pedestrian and vehicular traffic was allowed to pass through,”.
