Islamabad Customs recovers smuggled goods worth crores of rupees

12 tons of smuggled foreign origin smuggled cigarettes and polythene bags were seized by preventive staff of MCC Islamabad, the goods were hidden in the secret cavities of two passenger buses coming from Quetta.

In a crackdown against smuggling across the country on the instructions of Member Customs Operation Zeba Hai. The MCC Islamabad has seized two passenger busses near Motorway Changi No. 26 and transferred them to State Warehouse Islamabad.

According to the details, the Collector MCC Islamabad Muhammad Asif received a secret Information from his secret source that two passenger buses are traveling towards Islamabad in which foreign origin smuggled goods worth crores of rupees are being smuggled.

The Collector MCC share this information to his DC Preventive, on which DC Preventive Jalal Haider issued an order to the Anti-Smuggling squad to blockade near No. 26 and take action against the wanted buses.The Customs Scott of MCC Islamabad took timely action and recovered two passenger buses full of smuggled goods worth crores of rupees along with the smuggled goods which were skillfully hidden in the secret compartments of the passenger, the busses transfered to Customs Warehouse Islamabad.

The smuggled goods recovered include 12 tonnes of foreign cigarettes and polythene bags worth crores of rupees. Customs squad has registered a case against both the busses while the remaining investigation is going on.
