On the issue of blocking mobile SIMs of non-filers, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has said that 9 thousand SIMs have been blocked so far, FBR has sent the data of blocking 30 thousand SIMs to telecom companies.
The FBR has released new data regarding the block of mobile SIMs of non-filers.
According to the spokesperson of FBR, FBR is sending telecom companies to block SIMs of 5 thousand non-filers on a daily basis, PTA does not have the authority to block SIMs.
The FBR asking telecom companies to block SIMs under Section 114 of Income Tax.
The FBR had published SIMs blocking list of 5 lakh 6 thousand 671 non-files, Income Tax General Order 2024 has already been issued for this purpose.
