Finance Minister holds meeting with WB, IMF and UAE at Marrakech

The caretaker Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar held three pivotal meeting comprises Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the IMF, Trotsenburg Senior Managing Director of the World Bank and Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs (UAE) on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the WB/IMF held at Marrakech.

According to details Finance Ministry post on its X account that the discussion Georgieva of IMF revolved around global economic stability and Pakistan’s commitment to financial reforms, with a shared commitment to strengthening economic resilience and fostering international cooperation.

During anther meeting Dr. Shamshad Akhtar met with Axel van Trotsenburg Senior Managing Director of the World Bank during her visit to Morocco for annual meetings of WB/IMF. The discussion encompassed crucial matters related to financial stability, revenue generation, and economic progress. The comprehensive dialogue signifies the commitment of both parties to bolstering economic cooperation and progress.

The caretaker Federal Minister for Finance held third meeting with H.E Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs (UAE), on the sidelines of the annual meeting of WB/IMF.

The discussion focused on further strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and the UAE, exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation in finance and revenue matters, promoting investment, and mutual economic growth.

Both ministers expressed optimism about the potential for further collaboration and pledged to continue working together to advance their countries’ economic interests.
