Khawaja Khurram Naeem the Collector of Customs Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Peshawar said that he pleased to announce the outstanding performance in revenue collection and anti-smuggling efforts for the financial year 2023-24, marking a notable improvement compared to the previous financial year.
Telling the details of revenue Collection Khawaja Khuram said that during the financial year 2023-24, the Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Peshawar achieved a remarkable revenue collection of Rs.3205.10 reflecting an increase of Rs.599.88 million (23 %) as compared to the financial year 2022-23 revenue of Rs.2605.22 million.
This substantial growth underscores the effective strategies implemented by the organization, coupled with enhanced compliance measures and a robust economic environment.
He said that Collectorate is delighted to report a 23% growth in revenue collection for the financial year 2023-24 as compared to FY 2022-23″ said Collector Customs (Enforcement), Peshawar”.
“This achievement is a testament to our proactive approach in fostering economic growth and ensuring fiscal discipline”.
Regarding Anti-Smuggling Efforts the Collector said that in tandem with our revenue collection success, the Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Peshawar has also demonstrated significant strides in combating smuggling activities throughout the financial year 2023-24.
The dedicated efforts of our enforcement teams resulted in 674 cases of seizures worth Rs.1665.89 million. The seizure cases includes 92 NCP vehicles, currency, F/O Cloth, F/O Tea, F/O Tyres, F/O Cigarette, Narcotics and other misc foreign origin non duty paid goods he said.
Our intensified efforts in combating smuggling have yielded positive outcomes, as evidenced by the Rs.1665.89/- million seizures during the F.Y 2023-24. This underscores our commitment to safeguarding national interests and maintaining regulatory integrity.
