100 cctv cameras installs on smuggling route of Baluchistan with in month: chief collector Baluchistan

Anti-Smuggling, Monitoring and Coordination Center, Control Room has been established in Collectorate of Quetta

The Chief Collector Customs Balochistan Abdul Qadir Memon has said that the Collectorate Customs has established anti-smuggling, monitoring and coordination center, control room in Quetta, where intelligence agencies including customs and representatives of the government will monitor round the clock and by adopting a joint action plan, Actions will be taken to stop smuggling of goods going out and imported goods coming from outside.

Talking to the media, Abdul Qadir Memon said that a modern monitoring and coordination control center has been established in Balochistan with the aim of preventing smuggling by check posts and field officers along with enforcement units in Balochistan. Actions will be taken along with monitoring of the operations based on information obtained through modern CCTV cameras around the clock. In the first phase, a dozen CCTV cameras have been connected to the control room at all check posts and various locations and the number of these cameras will be increased to 100 CCTV cameras in a month.

He said that the provincial government has issued a notification for the duty representatives in this control room. This control room will monitor round the clock. The Chief Collector said that there is an international border with the neighboring countries of Iran and Afghanistan, from where imported goods are smuggled, and actions will be taken by monitoring to prevent it, including customs, FC, police, levies, government. Representatives will monitor round the clock.

He said that the sugar mills are in Punjab, Sindh and KPK. In this regard, counters have been established to monitor the incoming sugar so that the record of everything is complete and all smuggling routes can be closed. He said that strict monitoring will be done through CCTV cameras on unpaved and paved roads including all check posts. A and B area was an issue on the part of the police, so joint check posts have been established in which customs, FC and other institutions are also cooperating to rid Balochistan of smuggling.
