In a major administrative overhaul, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced on Tuesday the transfers and postings of 33 senior officers from the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) in grades BS-19 to BS-21.
This extensive reshuffle aims to optimize the organization’s efficiency and enhance its performance. The FBR, in a notification, said as under
1. Dr. Muhammad Sarmad Qureshi (IRS/BS-21): Transferred and appointed as Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Sahiwal, formerly serving as Chief Commissioner, Regional Tax Office, Bahawalpur.
2. Ms. Laila Ghafoor (IRS/BS-20): Appointed as Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Bahawalpur, having previously held the position of Director General, (OPS) (CRM) Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad.
3. Ms. Shazia Abid (IRS/BS-20): Transferred to the role of Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals-IV), Karachi, from her previous post as Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals-III), Karachi.
4. Najeeb Ahmad Memon (IRS/BS-20): Appointed as Member (OPS), Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad (stationed at Karachi), formerly serving as Chief Commissioner, (OPS) Corporate Tax Office, Karachi.
5. Ms. Shazia Memon (IRS/BS-20): Appointed as Commissioner Inland Revenue (Benami Zone-III), Karachi, from her previous role as Chief, (Admin Pool) Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad.
6. Muhammad Azhar Ansari (IRS/BS-20): Transferred and posted as Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Quetta, previously serving as Commissioner Inland Revenue Benami Zone-III, Karachi.
7. Sahibzada Abdul Mateen (IRS/BS-20): Appointed as Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals-I), Karachi, having previously held the position of Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals-IV), Karachi.
8. Sheikh Zahid Masood (IRS/BS-20): Transferred and posted as Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, (OPS) Corporate Tax Office, Karachi, formerly Chief Commissioner, Regional Tax Office, Quetta.

33. Ali Adnan Zaidi (IRS/BS-19): Appointed as Commissioner Inland Revenue, (OPS) (Zone-III) Large Taxpayers Office, Lahore, having previously served as Additional Commissioner, Large Taxpayers Office, Lahore.
The FBR emphasized that officers drawing performance allowances prior to this notification will continue to receive the allowance at their new place of posting.
